Headed to long beach island, NJ for the weekend to get some surfing in on the swell Hannah churned up. Drove out from State College, PA. Stormed and rained sideways all day Saturday but Sunday cleared up and gave us perfect conditions! It was all worth it in the end... even sleeping in the van the first night.

We chase over 100km from Maryborough to Mackay in tropical Queensland. Some timelapse of a LP looking storm near Mackay. Satellite pictures later showed that the anvil streamed off near 300 km eastwards !

This a video my father put together talking about the effects of sea level rise and increased storms due to global warming. Our house on Cape Cod sits out on a bluff overlooking Pleasant bay and is in grave danger due to the loss of the barrier beach which once protected it.

Well actually single cell storms are quite rare. This could have been a multi cell, but with the base stuck in place looked like a single cell as mid levels took away the pulses.

Fri, June 27, 2008 Evansville Freedom Festival - A freak storm blew in around 7:50 pm chasing everybody away from the unlimited hydroplane races. Lasting around 10 minutes with an accumulation of 2-1/2" of rainfall. The sun quickly appears and then sets just after all the excitement.
